I actually took some of these before the snow leopard, but he had to go first for obvious cuteness reasons.

| A golden eagle. We had two of these at the Oregon Zoo, but mere volunteers were not allowed to handle them for insurance reasons (they could break your arm without even thinking about it). | A black vulture, which we also had, ours was named Morticia. She was a beauty, but unfortunately neurotic and began plucking out her own feathers and had to wear a satelite dish like a dog. |

| An Andean condor. We got one as a baby my last summer in Oregon. These guys are huge! Wingspans up to 10 feet! | A very cute barred owl. Later he was eating a mouse, but I was too slow to capture it on film. | ![]() |

| King vulture. The one in Oregon bit me and I still carry a scar, proudly of course. | After all, it's not everyone who gets bit by something as cool as this. |

| Emily was excited by taking the skytram! I was too, until I remembered I was afraid of heights. | The ibex looked rather small from that far above ground. There were some baboons as well, but I missed them. | |
| We were really high up. | And going pretty fast. | |
| Turtles for Emily. | Wild bunny for Diana. |

| Last we hit the famed Congo exhibit for some up close and personal with the gorillas. | I was impressed by them, but they didn't seem to feel the same way about us. |
| A big one in the dark. | A bit of glare from the glass. |
