| The big news of this week was the birth of a baby colobus monkey.
Although the adult monkeys are black and white, the babies are all white.
Unforunately, this is the best photo I was able to get, what with the hordes
of people and the monkeys jumping around with the baby (this is grandma,
apparently). I think Andrea may have gotten better shots. |
Gus trying to get Ida (I think) to share a bone with him. He followed
her around while she carried it in her mouth and then sat right next to her
and licked her while she ate. She didn't share one bit of the bone with him,
then found the other one and ate that too while he looked on again. I
thought he would take it from her, but I guess he wasn't feeling very alpha. |
| This is the nicobar pigeon chick after two weeks. This baby looks
almost full grown! Although I heard that street pigeon "rock dove" babies
look full grown after a week, so perhaps this is actually a slow maturing
baby pigeon species. I have no idea frankly. |
This is Goodwin racing right by me. I swear the red panda refuses to
be photographed. He's either hiding in a tree, or he's running around in
his enclosure. And I do mean running. It's too bad, because red pandas
have the cutest little faces! |
