It was Mongolian Festival Day at the zoo! Lots of excitment, lots of visitors, though the latter was probably due more to the spectacular weather.

I particularly like this picture, a zoomap-reading Mongol. Maybe it can go in the next brochure. I asked this guy if I could take his photo, he didn't seem enthusiastic about it, but he seemed to like me.
Justin gives Jane the snow leopard look. Something about the sunglasses just slays me.
There was also some lovely Mongolian dancing, though I couldn't see much through all the people. There was interesting music as well, but I couldn't tell if there was throat singing. And some Mongolian wrestling, which even drew the zookeepers to watch. The half-naked guy on the right was the wrestler. There was also archery, but I didn't get any photos of that.
Justin in the midst of his patented "Justin snow leopard nose". Emily concentrates on countering with her own patented version.
I love how this girl is wearing all spotted clothes, and then added the spotted visor and facepaint. How cute is this mother and child? Though the baby whiskers are a little more like a moustache than whiskers.
After I took the photo he broke out into a huge grin. I swear. Emily, Justin and David L., helping out from Saturday B.

The animal photos:

I took over 30 photos of the marmoset twins and barely got four good ones, this is probably the best. Although I finally got a face on this one, there's some glare from the flash (which I gave up and had to use finally).
Look at that cute little face! Don't you just want to take them home with you? Here's the whole family, though one parent is only half in the photo.
The best photo I got of Ella, she was just too active, and too far away. One of the 2 year old Burmese Tortoises, with a scarlet ibis, for size comparison.
I think this is little Inez peeking out, with Gwyne. So cute! All the snow monkeys together, except Isabelle. Manny's at the very right.
I believe this is Ida, hanging out and answering the question of whether or not polar bears have belly buttons. The defiant Luna, she didn't want to go inside apparently. I like the reflection of her in the water (completely unplanned of course).
